Appointments on your profile

Share your booking page, manage your availability and meet guests without requiring an Oyoyo account.

WebMobile

Set up your booking page

  1. 1Open your own profile and choose Appointments, at the end of the Wallet row (on the web it is also in the profile menu), then Meeting types. Create a video or audio meeting, its duration and the timing rules.
  2. 2In Availability, choose your time zone and weekly hours. Add days off, then turn on Accept bookings and save. If bookings are on but no meeting is open, Appointments tells you: your page has nothing to book until you add one.
  3. 3Choose Share booking page. Your link is oyoyoapp.com/book/ followed by your handle. While you have an open meeting, visitors see Book a time on your profile: a calendar icon beside Message and Call on the web, and a Book a time row in the app.

Book and manage a time

  • Visitors choose a meeting, a date and an available time, then enter their name and email. With a single meeting, the page opens straight on its calendar at the first day with free times. An Oyoyo account is optional for booking.
  • Times are displayed in the visitor’s device time zone. Your schedule uses the host time zone, including daylight-saving changes. Buffers and pending requests reserve the time across all your appointment types.
  • The private confirmation link arrives by email and opens the booking, calendar export, rescheduling and cancellation controls. Keep this link private.
  • Bookings requiring confirmation stay pending until the host confirms or declines them. Both sides receive email updates. Guest changes close at the host’s configured notice period.

Meet with your guest

  • Open the meeting from the booking. Its room opens 15 minutes before the appointment; guests wait until the host starts and, when enabled, admits them.
  • Booked guests only accepts the private confirmation link without an account. Anyone with the meeting link permits public guests. Link and an Oyoyo account requires sign-in. These options are independent of Square membership.
  • The familiar Meeting interface provides microphone, camera, people, messages, hand raising and host controls. Web also offers screen presentation. The host admits or removes visitors, requests mute and ends the room.
  • Personal meetings do not record. Meeting links never grant access to a Square. Only the host sees booking email addresses, notes and the waiting-room list.

Know the limits

This calendar manages Oyoyo appointments. It does not import busy time from Google, Microsoft or other external calendars, take appointment payments, or create recurring appointments. Add to calendar exports a calendar event; it is not two-way calendar sync.

Explore Faaji: Short Drama, Films and Music

Enter the creative worlds from one home, and discover previews in Pulse.

WebMobile

Find your world

  1. 1Choose Faaji beside Pulse in the main discovery navigation.
  2. 2Enter Short Drama, Films or Music. Use the shared world tabs or Back to Faaji to move between them. On mobile, the main navigation stays available while browsing; immersive playback uses its own controls.
  3. 3The Open Demo Library contains credited free music, complete open short films and clearly labelled portrait episode adaptations for exploring Short Drama. Original source and licence details appear in each description. These free demos do not earn Premium allocations.
  4. 4Use the For you and Following filters inside Pulse. Pulse begins with five short posts, then spaces music and film discoveries between at least six more short posts. Only ready, reviewed previews are included and the next previews are warmed ahead. Active music and film previews loop while their Pulse page is visible. On the web, previews start muted where the browser requires it; the sound control applies across Pulse. Continue listening opens the full music player when you have access; watch actions open the film or its access page. Swipe normally to keep browsing.

What appears in Pulse

  • Pulse carries creative shorts, photos, short episodes and authorised previews. Full films and full-length music belong in their dedicated players.
  • Music discovery previews last at most 30 seconds; film trailers and feed videos last at most three minutes. A preview does not grant paid access.
  • Existing Short Drama links, purchases and progress continue to work. Faaji does not replace your earlier purchases.

On a film or album page

  • Play, Watch film or Play album starts it. In the app, the round buttons beside it save the release to your library and share it.
  • Select the short description, or Details, for the full description, credits and the option to report a concern.
  • Faaji stays dark and quiet in every appearance setting, so artwork and video stand out.

Listen to songs and albums

Use the queue, lyrics and background player without losing your place.

WebMobile

Start listening

  1. 1Open Music, an artist or a release. Check whether it is free, purchased or included in your active Premium pass.
  2. 2Choose a track or play the available album tracks. The music bar spans the bottom edge as you browse, with playback and queue controls.
  3. 3Open the artwork-led listening room to seek, change tracks, shuffle or repeat. Switch between Lyrics and Up next.
  4. 4Open Lyrics when the creator has supplied them. Timed lyrics follow the current line; plain lyrics remain readable without timing.

Keep listening

  • Mobile music supports background playback and screen-lock, headset and notification controls. Calls pause music; resume when you are ready.
  • A video taking playback closes the compact music player, including in Pulse. Calls and meetings pause media. Open Music again when you want to listen.
  • Playback needs a connection. Expired access or a removed release can stop a track; reopen the release to check your access.
  • Lyrics are creator supplied and authorised; not every track has lyrics.

Build your library and playlists

Keep saved work, find purchases and organise the music you can play.

WebMobile

Your library

  1. 1Sign in and open Library from Faaji.
  2. 2Use Saved, History or Purchased to find your releases. Saving a release keeps a shortcut; it does not buy it.
  3. 3Open a release to continue listening or watching. Film progress is saved to your account. Music keeps playing as you navigate, with a music bar across the bottom. Open it for the full player; choosing an audible video transfers playback.

Your playlists

  1. 1Create a playlist, give it a name and choose public or private.
  2. 2Add tracks you want to collect. Rename the playlist, change its privacy, reorder or remove tracks from its controls.
  3. 3Play the eligible tracks or share a public playlist. A private playlist is visible only to its owner.

A shared playlist does not transfer purchases or Premium access. Locked tracks remain locked for each viewer; the player skips tracks you cannot access.

Watch, rent or buy a film

Review access options, subtitles and quality before settling into a film.

WebMobile

Choose access

  1. 1Open Films and choose a film. Read its description, classification, creator credits, language, authorship label and price.
  2. 2Watch its trailer if available. Choose purchase, rental or your eligible Premium pass when offered.
  3. 3Confirm the published total, pay and wait for confirmation. Reopen the payment to check its status before attempting another charge.

Rental timing

  • A rental must begin within 30 days of payment. Its 48-hour viewing window starts on your first full playback, not when you watch a trailer or enter a waiting room.
  • A purchase is access to the film inside Oyoyo; it is not a transfer of copyright or a downloadable master file.
  • Premiere films may have a disclosed first-availability time and a 30-day purchase-only window before they join Premium. A preorder reserves access until that time.

Player controls

  • Watch film opens an immersive cinema room with the video as the main focus. Use the play, ten-second skip, timeline and playback settings controls. Fullscreen uses landscape for wide films and portrait for tall videos on supported phones; leaving fullscreen restores the app view. Return to details closes the player.
  • Choose Auto for adaptive streaming, Data saver for a smaller stream, or an available higher quality. Changing quality retains your place.
  • Turn creator-supplied subtitles on or off. Availability depends on the film.
  • Your viewing position resumes from your account. A viewer-specific mark helps protect the creator’s work.
  • Film playback pauses when you leave it or take a call. A connection and valid access are required; saved/library entries are not offline downloads.
06 · Faaji · Music & Films/Viewers and creators

Choose an Oyoyo Premium pass

One prepaid pass covers eligible Music and Films for seven or 30 days.

WebMobile

Launch prices

  • Nigeria: ₦500 for seven days or ₦1,500 for 30 days.
  • United Kingdom: £1.99 for seven days or £5.99 for 30 days.
  • Other supported buyer countries: US$1.99 for seven days or US$5.99 for 30 days. Your registered country determines your regional offer.

Buy and use your pass

  1. 1Open Premium from Faaji and check the price, period and access terms.
  2. 2Purchase on the web or a supported direct Android build. The Google Play and App Store editions let you use existing digital purchases and passes; they do not offer this checkout.
  3. 3Wait for payment confirmation. Your pass shows its start and expiry; buying another pass extends your existing period.

Passes are prepaid and do not renew automatically. There is no recurring payment to cancel. Expiry stops Premium-only access; separate purchases remain attached to your account.

What the pass includes

  • Only releases marked eligible are included. A purchase-only release or a film in its initial Premiere window can require a separate purchase.
  • Creators receive 70% of net Premium revenue through each subscriber’s qualified listening and viewing. Original and AI-assisted works have full weight; AI-generated works have half weight.
  • A brief preview, self-play or artificial repeat does not create creator earnings. Report suspected rights misuse from the release.
07 · Faaji · Music & Films/Eligible creators

Publish music, albums and films

Submit work you control and complete a human rights review before publication.

WebMobile

Prepare a release

  1. 1Open Create → Music studio for a single or album, or Create → Film studio for a full film. Short Drama keeps its own studio for short films and episode series.
  2. 2Add the title, description, genre, language, credits, territories and Original, AI-assisted or AI-generated label. Mark explicit content and enter the film classification where applicable.
  3. 3Choose free, direct sale, Premium or the Premiere option. Paid selling is available to eligible Nigerian and UK creators, priced in NGN or GBP respectively.
  4. 4Save your details before uploading. Use Release preparation to move between Details, Media and Review; it reflects saved progress. Upload artwork and full media. Album tracks have their own titles and order. Choose Public preview / trailer to upload your own music excerpt (up to 30 seconds) or edited film trailer (up to three minutes), plus private rights evidence. These are separately reviewed uploads; automatic demo preparation is not a promised service for every release.
  5. 5Add authorised plain or timed lyrics to music, or WebVTT subtitles to a film. Confirm that you control the necessary distribution and lyrics rights.
  6. 6Wait until uploads and processing are ready, then submit for review. A different authorised human reviewer checks the actual revision.

After review

  • If changes are requested, read the note, correct the draft and resubmit. Published media is locked against silent replacement.
  • Uploads can resume after an interruption. Full tracks may be up to 30 minutes and films up to three hours, subject to the upload limits shown.
  • Creators must own or have permission for every asset and territory. Oyoyo does not supply a licensed label catalogue or external music distribution.
  • Withdrawn or reported works can lose playback while staff investigate. Keep your account contact details accurate.

Understand Faaji prices, earnings and refunds

See the complete price early and track a verified payment or refund.

WebMobile

Individual-sale commission

  • Oyoyo charges 8% on individual music purchases and film purchases or rentals. Premium supports the creators each subscriber listens to and watches through fan-powered royalties.
  • A creator can bear the commission or include the booking fee in the published buyer total. The same total applies to every payment method, from the release listing through checkout.
  • For a £5 base sale: creator-paid commission means a £5 buyer total and £4.60 creator share; buyer-paid commission means a £5.40 published total and £5 creator share. Payment processing comes from Oyoyo’s share.
  • The displayed total is the amount charged. This checkout does not assess a separate VAT charge or issue a VAT invoice in this release.

Payments and earnings

  • Nigeria uses Paystack; GBP and USD use Stripe. Faaji purchases do not require a Cowrie top-up.
  • Sales enter identifiable held earnings. They normally clear after seven days; preorders remain held until seven days after first availability. Open refunds or rights withdrawal can keep the affected money held.
  • Premium earnings are calculated after a paid period ends and the provider costs and qualified consumption can be verified.
  • Eligible sellers withdraw cleared earnings to their verified Nigerian or UK bank setup. A provider transfer and actual bank receipt are separate stages.

Check before paying twice

  1. 1Open Oyoyo Payments and locate the original reference if a checkout was interrupted.
  2. 2Use Check payment and wait for its confirmed result. An unanswered provider request is not proof that no payment was taken.
  3. 3If you need a refund, choose the paid purchase and explain the issue. Staff review it; approved full refunds return through the original payment provider.
  4. 4A confirmed full refund removes the corresponding access. Refund timing follows the provider and your bank.

Host or join a shared film premiere

Watch together on one screening clock with a moderated conversation.

WebMobile

Join a screening

  1. 1Open a scheduled screening from the film’s page or a shared premiere link.
  2. 2Sign in with the film access shown. Your existing purchase or eligible access is admission; there is no second ticket charge.
  3. 3Wait for the host to start. Joining late opens the film at the shared screening position.
  4. 4Use chat to share thoughts. If you pause or change quality, resuming rejoins the premiere clock.

A screening link does not bypass payment, regional availability, a refund or a publication withdrawal.

Host responsibly

  1. 1From your published film, choose Schedule screening, add a title and time, then share the link. The time cannot precede the film’s first availability.
  2. 2Open the room and choose Start screening when its scheduled time arrives. Only the host starts or ends the room.
  3. 3Remove inappropriate messages. Blocking and account restrictions apply; repeated messages are rate limited.
  4. 4Choose End premiere when the screening is finished. Viewers can return to the film under their normal access terms.

Access Oyoyo and choose how to enter

Sign in with email, Apple or Google, create an account, or explore public areas as a guest.

WebMobile

  1. 1Open Oyoyo and choose Sign in.
  2. 2Enter the email address and password connected to your account, then select Sign in.
  3. 3To use your Apple Account instead, choose Continue with Apple and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password.
  4. 4If Google sign-in is available on your device, choose Continue with Google and finish the Google prompt.
  5. 5After a successful sign-in, Oyoyo returns you to the experience you were trying to open or to Home.

Create an account

  1. 1Choose Create account on the sign-in screen.
  2. 2Enter accurate account details and use an email address you can access.
  3. 3Complete any verification or onboarding prompts shown to you.
  4. 4Add a profile photo, display name and short bio so people can recognise you.

Sign in with Apple

  • Continue with Apple is on the iPhone and iPad app, and on the web and Android where it is offered. Each one opens the same Oyoyo account.
  • The first time, Apple asks whether to share your email or hide it. Hide My Email gives Oyoyo a private relay address that forwards to you, and only your name and email are shared.
  • Your name comes from Apple, so the profile step starts with it filled in. You can still change it.
  • If your Apple Account uses the same email as an existing Oyoyo account, you sign in to that account.
  • Apple accounts have no Oyoyo password, so Change password is not shown. Deleting your Oyoyo account also disconnects it from your Apple Account.

Continue as a guest

Guest access is useful for exploring public feeds and events. Actions that affect an account—such as following, commenting, messaging, gifting, saving or publishing—ask you to sign in first.

If you cannot sign in

  • Check that the email address has no extra spaces and that your password uses the correct letter case.
  • Use Forgot password to set a new password instead of repeatedly guessing.
  • For Google or Apple sign-in, finish the prompt in the same browser or app session and allow it to return to Oyoyo. On the web, allow pop-ups for Oyoyo if the Apple window does not open.
  • If the problem continues, record the visible message and submit a report from the public UAT page while testing staging.

Used the old Oyoyo Events app?

  • Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used there. Your name and profile photo are already on your Oyoyo account.
  • Oyoyo then asks only for what the old app never had: a username, your date of birth and your country.
  • Events, tickets and wallet balances from the old app could not be carried over.

Set up a profile people can trust

Build a recognisable profile and use it as the home for your posts, followers and creator activity.

WebMobile

Open photos and arrange your tabs

  • Tap your profile picture or cover to view it at full size. On mobile, pinch or double-tap to zoom, then swipe down to close.
  • Use the sliders icon beside the profile tabs to arrange optional tabs, show or hide them and highlight one. Posts stays first and your Vault stays private.
  • Returning to a profile remembers the selected tab. Opening a store link takes you straight to Store.

Complete the essentials

  1. 1Open Profile, tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of your banner and choose Edit profile. Settings and Share profile are in the same menu.
  2. 2Use a clear profile image and a display name that your audience will recognise.
  3. 3Write a short bio that explains who you are or what you create.
  4. 4Review the saved profile to make sure the image and text appear correctly.

Understand your profile

  • Your profile shows your published media and your relationship with followers and following.
  • Selecting a video opens the profile viewer. You can move through profile videos without returning to Home.
  • Unlike Home and Following, a profile's video list finishes when you reach the creator's last available video.
  • Other signed-in users can follow or gift you directly from your profile where those actions are available.
  • A small Creator tag beside a name shows a creator account. A red check means a verified creator: a creator whose identity check has been approved.
  • Appointments, at the end of the Wallet row on your own profile, opens your availability, meeting types and bookings. Visitors see Book a time when you have an open meeting.
  • On mobile, your Wallet is reached from your own profile, just below your stats.
  • Tap a #hashtag in a bio to see every post with that tag.

Choose a banner

  1. 1In Edit profile, under Profile banner, pick one of the Oyoyo designs (Lagos night, Red horizon, Emerald current or Midnight grid), or select Upload image to use your own wide photo.
  2. 2A readability layer is added automatically, so your name and buttons stay clear on any image.
  3. 3Select Save profile. A new banner can take a moment to appear on a slow connection.

Your profile tabs

  • Posts: everything you've published.
  • Events: events you host.
  • Highlights: your ready Live replays, marked Replay, alongside saved clips.
  • Vault: posts you saved. Only you can see your Vault.

Share your profile

Choose Share profile from the ⋮ menu on your banner. Your link is oyoyoapp.com/@ followed by your username, the usual form for a social handle. It opens your profile in the Oyoyo app where it is installed, and in the browser everywhere else. Older app.oyoyoapp.com/@yourname links keep working.

Protect your identity

Only add information you are comfortable showing publicly. Never place passwords, payment card details, verification codes or private identity documents in your bio, posts or comments.

Discover on Pulse and Following

Move through a full-screen media feed, start a fresh delivery session and find people or topics.

WebMobile

Navigate the media feed

  • Pulse is your personal feed: public posts from across Oyoyo, picked for you.
  • Following is a filter inside Pulse and focuses on accounts you follow. Primary discovery is Pulse, Faaji, Live and Booths.
  • Swipe vertically on mobile or scroll on web to move one item at a time.
  • On Android, feed videos and their preview images fit inside the screen so the full frame stays visible. Black space can appear above, below or beside videos with a different shape from your screen; the video is not stretched or cropped to fill it.
  • Tap or click the media itself to pause or resume a video. Use the volume control to mute or restore sound.
  • A long caption is cut short with “…”. Tap it to read all of it, and tap again to fold it.
  • Pulse videos adjust to your connection. On the web, a video starts at a lighter quality on a slow network or with your browser's or phone's data saver on, then sharpens as the connection allows. Only the first seconds of the next video are fetched ahead, so a swipe plays at once without spending data on videos you skip.
  • On mobile, the app plays a lighter copy made for phones and keeps the next three on your phone for faster playback after the Oyoyo startup screen.
  • A new post gets its lighter versions a few minutes after posting; until then the original plays. A very slow connection can still make a video wait.

Start a fresh content session

Returning to Pulse from another page brings you back to the same video and playback position. Select Pulse again while it is already active to start a fresh feed session. On mobile, pulling down from the first item also refreshes the feed.

What happens at the end

Pulse and Following never show you a video you have already been shown until you have seen everything available; then a new round begins, least recently seen first. This is remembered on your account, so it holds after you close the app, update it or sign in on another device. A creator's profile feed does not cycle; it ends after that profile's available posts.

Save a photo or video

  1. 1Open the post's More menu and select Save video or Save photo (Download video or Download photo on the web). For a post with several photos, it saves the one on screen.
  2. 2Wait a moment while Oyoyo prepares it; you can keep browsing. On mobile it goes to your gallery; on the web, to your downloads.
  • Every saved photo and video carries the Oyoyo mark and the creator's handle. On a video they move from the top left to the bottom right halfway through, and the video ends with a short card showing the Oyoyo logo and the handle.
  • You can save your own posts and public posts you can see. Lives and dramas can't be saved, and videos longer than 10 minutes can't be downloaded.

Choose who sees your highlights and replays

  • Highlights and replays from your lives can be Public, Followers, Friends (people you follow who follow you back) or Only me.
  • For a highlight, open its More menu and select Who can see this. For a replay, choose Who can watch in the replay's controls, or Replay visible to when you set up the live.
  • Only public highlights appear in feeds and search. Followers and friends see the others on your profile or with the link. A replay's Public means everyone who could watch the live.

Search and hashtags

  1. 1Open Search from the app navigation.
  2. 2Enter a creator name, topic, hashtag or Faaji title. The Faaji filter finds published Short Drama, Films and Music; meeting rooms stay out of general discovery.
  3. 3Choose the result that matches what you need, then follow, watch or join the conversation from there.
  • Tap any #hashtag in a caption, comment, reply or bio to see every post that uses it.
  • Tap an @mention to search for that person.
  • Tap a sound's name to hear it and see the public posts that use it.
  • Editing a caption updates its hashtags: a post appears under tags you add and leaves tags you remove.
14 · Create/Signed-in creators

Publish a post or story

Share video or image content with a clear caption and check it before it reaches your audience.

WebMobile

Create from the camera on mobile

  1. 1Tap + to open the camera. POST records a video (choose 15s, 60s or 3m) or takes a photo; Upload beside the shutter picks from your gallery.
  2. 2Camera flip, flash, timer and Add sound sit beside the viewfinder. Switch to LIVE to go live, or CREATE for events, Squares and sounds.
  3. 3When you stop recording, the post opens full screen, as on TikTok and Shorts. Type your caption on the picture; #hashtags and @mentions are suggested as you type.
  4. 4Use the right-hand tools: Text to write on the picture, Filters, Crop (photos) or Volume (with a sound), and Trim or Edit for the full editor. Done brings you back to the preview.
  5. 5Use the chips above Post to set a time (Post now or a schedule), add an Event, Collaborators or a Square, and choose who can Link Up with your video.
  6. 6Tap Post. Draft keeps it on this phone instead; a Draft thumbnail then appears beside the shutter so you can pick it up later.

Create a post

  1. 1Select Post or the create button in the main navigation.
  2. 2Choose the supported video or image you want to publish.
  3. 3Add a useful caption and any relevant topic information shown in the form.
  4. 4Review the preview, especially cropping, sound and text placement.
  5. 5Publish once and wait for the confirmation. Large media may take longer to process on a slower connection.

More in the web composer

  • Create post goes Media, Edit, then Details.
  • Under Edit, choose a look (filter) for each photo, place text on the media by dragging it, and trim a video's start and end. Text sits plainly on the picture with a soft shadow; turn on Background if you want a dark box behind it.
  • Under Details, @mention people in the caption, add Collaborators (up to five co-authors, each asked first), connect the post to an event so it carries a living event card, or publish it to a community.
  • Choose a Publish time to schedule the post for later. It appears on your profile and in feeds at that time.
  • When closing a changed web post, choose Save draft, Discard changes or Keep editing. A saved draft stays private on this device and is offered when you return.
  • Choose Go live on the media step to open Live setup. Save or discard an unfinished post before continuing; nothing goes live until you confirm the live setup.

Add a story

  1. 1Open Square and use the add button on your story circle above the community tabs.
  2. 2Choose the media offered by the picker and complete the story prompt.
  3. 3Tap the create action once, then allow the upload to finish before trying again.

Story photos can be up to 5 MB and videos up to 15 MB; the app resizes photos for you. If an action appears to be taking time, do not double-tap it. Watch for the loading state or confirmation first.

Watch someone's story

  • Select a story circle to watch. A bar at the top fills for each of that person's stories; tap the right side (or press →) for the next, the left side (or ←) for the one before.
  • Pause with the pause button, or press and hold the picture. A video starts silent: select the speaker to hear it.
  • Reply with Type a reply… at the bottom — the smiley adds emojis. Your reply goes to their messages, showing the story you answered, and only they see it.
  • Select the heart to like a story; select it again to take it back. Only the person who posted it sees who liked it.
  • Select ⋮ to report a story that breaks the rules.
  • Stories open above your current community. Close the viewer to return to the same room and thread; Add story in the Create menu also keeps your current community open.

See who viewed your story

  • Open your own story: the count at the bottom shows how many people have viewed it. Select it to see who, newest first, and when; a heart marks those who liked it.
  • To remove a story before its 24 hours are up, select ⋮, then Delete status.
  • Replies to your story arrive in your messages, quoting the story.

Make media easy to enjoy

  • Use clear vertical video when the content is intended for the full-screen feed.
  • Keep important faces, text and objects away from the lower and right edges where actions and captions appear.
  • Use readable captions and avoid flashing or misleading material.
  • Only publish media you have the right to share.

Credit collaborators on a post

Name up to five people who made a post with you. Each one accepts first, then the post shows them and appears on their profile.

WebMobile

Add collaborators while you post

  1. 1On the phone, after recording, tap the Collaborators chip above Post. On the web, open Collaborators in the Details step of Create post and choose Add people.
  2. 2Search by name or username and pick up to five people. Remove anyone with the cross on their chip.
  3. 3Post as usual. Each person gets an invitation in their notifications.

You can't add someone you have blocked or who has blocked you, or an account that isn't active.

Answer an invitation

  • Accept or Decline from the invitation in Notifications, or from the banner on the post itself.
  • Once you accept, your name appears beside the creator's ("Ada & Bola", or "Ada & 3 others") and the post shows on your profile too.
  • Changed your mind later? Open the post's menu and choose Leave as collaborator.

Manage collaborators on your post

  • Open the post's menu (More) and choose Collaborators.
  • You'll see who has accepted and who hasn't answered yet. Remove someone, cancel an invitation, or invite more people, up to five in all.
  • Tap the names after yours on any post to see everyone it credits.

Watch Short Drama

Portrait stories told in episodes of up to 60 seconds. Discover a series, watch in order and pick up where you left off.

WebMobile

Find a story

  1. 1Open Faaji, then Short Drama. Use the shared world navigation to return to Faaji or explore Films and Music.
  2. 2Search by title or story, or choose a genre such as Romance, Comedy or Thriller.
  3. 3Use History, Saved and Purchased to return to what you watched, saved or bought. Continue watching picks up the episode and moment where you stopped.

Watch

  • Open a story to see its creator, synopsis and episodes, then choose Watch free, Watch now or Continue watching.
  • Short Drama is portrait only, with a 60-second episode limit. Episodes have clear numbers and play in story order; choose the next episode or enable automatic continuation. Fullscreen keeps Short Drama upright. Existing wide recordings fit inside the stage without stretching. Playback settings include speed, and calls pause playback.
  • A paid partnership label means the creator worked with a brand. Open it to read their disclosure.

Unlock a paid drama

  1. 1Paid dramas show a price and a lock on paid episodes. Their opening episodes are often free to watch.
  2. 2On the web, choose Unlock drama, tick the purchase note and pay in cowries. It is one payment for every published episode, not a subscription.
  3. 3Your access opens as soon as it's paid. If you're short of cowries, top up and the purchase completes. If an older card checkout was interrupted, open the drama and choose Check existing payment instead of paying again.
  4. 4In the app, dramas you have unlocked play straight away.

Something wrong with a payment? Open your receipt and request a payment review. A review request is not a refund until it is confirmed.

Release a short film or an episode series, free or paid. See Oyoyo's fee and your net earnings before you submit.

WebMobile

Set up your release

  1. 1Open Create and choose Short Drama studio. Create portrait episodes of up to 60 seconds, give each a clear number and keep the story in order. Film studio is the home for full films, including wide cinema releases.
  2. 2Give it a title, synopsis, genre and cover, and choose Series or Short film.
  3. 3Choose how people watch: Free to watch, or Paid release with one full-drama price from ₦100 to ₦1,000,000. Oyoyo's fee and the amount you receive per sale show before you submit.
  4. 4Working with a brand? Name the partner and write a clear paid partnership disclosure.
  5. 5Confirm you own or have permission for the film, cast, music and artwork.

Add episodes

  • Free episodes are your approved portrait public videos of up to 60 seconds: choose them from your eligible posts.
  • Paid episodes are uploaded privately (portrait MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 100 MB and 60 seconds) and only play for buyers. Format and duration are verified before an episode is accepted.
  • Put any free opening episodes before the paid ones. A short film has one episode.
  • While it's a draft, edit the details or remove the last episode to replace it.

Review and release

  • Submit for review. The Oyoyo team checks every release before it goes live.
  • Published means viewers can find it. Changes requested comes with a note: make the changes and submit again.
  • Once published, the price and episodes stay as buyers saw them.

How you earn

  • Paid releases: each confirmed sale adds your share to your earnings wallet. The fee you saw at submission is the fee that applies, even if Oyoyo's rate changes later.
  • Free releases: free episodes are public posts, so they can count toward the Creator Fund under its usual rules. Views of paid episodes don't count toward the Fund.
  • Sponsorships: agree deals with brands directly and disclose them on the release. Oyoyo does not pay per view for advertising.
  • Drama studio's earnings show sales, gross, fee and your net for each release.

A refund or dispute on a sale ends that buyer's access and may put your wallet on hold while the payment is checked.

Review and manage your content

Use your profile as a content library and understand how saved posts differ from your own posts.

WebMobile

Delete a highlight

  1. 1Open your profile’s Highlights tab.
  2. 2Open the highlight’s menu and choose Delete highlight.
  3. 3Review the confirmation, then delete it. Only its creator can use this action.

Find your published work

Open Profile to see content associated with your account. Select an item to view it in the profile media viewer and move through the rest of that profile's content.

Return to the same item

Opening and closing comments should keep you on the active profile video. Selecting another profile video should replace the active item without returning you to the first post.

Delete a post

  1. 1Open the post from your profile.
  2. 2Select More (⋯) at the bottom of the post's actions.
  3. 3Choose Delete, then Proceed. A deleted post can't be restored.

Saved is private organisation

  • The bookmark action adds a post to Saved for your account.
  • Saving a post does not republish it to your profile and does not transfer ownership.
  • Open Saved from the More menu when you want to revisit bookmarked content.

Follow, like, comment, share and save

Use the actions on each post without losing your place in the feed.

WebMobile

Repost something worth sharing

  • Tap Repost on another creator’s eligible post. It appears in the Reposts tab on your profile.
  • Tap the same control again to undo your repost. The original creator keeps ownership of the post.
  • The comment icon opens replies from Pulse. Posts opened from a profile, search or sound page also have an Add a comment pill at the bottom.

Follow from the media view

  • Tap the + on the creator's picture, or Follow beside their name; you do not need to visit the profile first. The + turns to a tick, then disappears.
  • Once you follow someone, the pill beside their name says Following, or Friend when they follow you too. It is a label, not a button, so a stray tap cannot undo a follow.
  • On someone's profile, Follow sits beside round icons for Message, Voice call, Video call, Share and Gift. Once you follow them, Follow gives way to a Following or Friend tag beside their name.
  • Select anyone's name or picture — in a comment, a message, a community, a live chat or a story — to open their profile. On a live session it opens in a new tab, so you don't leave the stream.
  • Someone who already follows you is offered Follow back, on their posts, their profile and the new-follower notification.
  • The change shows everywhere that creator appears, on the web and in the app.

Unfollow someone

  1. 1Open their profile.
  2. 2Select the Following (or Friend) tag beside their name.
  3. 3Confirm Unfollow. They are not told, and you can follow again at any time.

React to a post

  • Like shows appreciation and updates the visible engagement count.
  • Comment opens the conversation without changing the active post. On a phone or a tablet-sized window the comments come up from the bottom, and the video keeps playing, smaller, in the space above them. Tap the video to close the comments.
  • Share uses the available sharing choices on your device or browser.
  • Bookmark saves the post to your private Saved area. The bookmark icon—not a heart—represents this action.

Write a useful comment

  1. 1Open comments on the active post.
  2. 2Write your message or use the emoji control: pick a quick emoji, or open the full picker to search every emoji. On a phone-sized screen the full picker opens as a sheet.
  3. 3Review it, then send once.
  4. 4Reply to a specific comment when you want to keep a conversation together.
  5. 5To delete your own comment or reply, open ⋮ beside it and choose Delete. On other people's comments, ⋮ offers Report instead.

If the follow state looks wrong

Open the creator's profile: it always asks Oyoyo afresh, and corrects the follow state and counts everywhere else. If the profile still looks wrong, capture it and submit one problem report with the exact steps.

Send a gift to a creator or commenter

Recognise someone from their profile, a comment or a live session using your cowrie balance.

WebMobile

Where gifting is available

  • A creator's profile
  • An eligible comment in a conversation
  • The persistent Send a gift button on a live session or its Gifts tab

Send a gift

  1. 1Choose Gift beside the recipient or in the live interaction panel.
  2. 2Browse Everyday, Celebrate or Signature. Select a gift to see its artwork, description and cowrie price.
  3. 3Choose a quantity. Check the recipient and total, then choose Send.
  4. 4Wait for the success confirmation and check your updated wallet balance.

Gifts use value from your wallet. They are not the same as free likes or emoji reactions, so always check the amount before confirming.

Little gestures and big moments

The catalogue has 23 gifts. Jara starts at 0.0769 cowries, Puff Puff at 0.3846 and Shekere at 0.7692 — approximately ₦100, ₦500 and ₦1,000 at the displayed naira rate. One cowrie still represents US$1. Prices and totals can use up to four decimal places.

If your balance is too low

  1. 1Choose Add cowries without leaving the gift.
  2. 2Use wallet money to buy the missing cowries when your balance covers the displayed cost. Wallet cash charges round up to a whole currency unit.
  3. 3Or choose a 1, 5, 10 or 25 cowrie pack and continue through the available card payment provider. For a larger gift, choose Cover this gift explicitly to fund the missing amount.
  4. 4Wait for the confirmed wallet purchase, return to your gift and choose Send. Adding cowries never sends a gift automatically.

If payment or a gift cannot be confirmed, check the original payment reference or your transactions. A pending result is not a reason to pay or send again.

Gifts during a live

Tap the gift icon beside the live comment box to open a small two-row tray. Each gift shows its unit price; tapping a tile immediately sends one of that gift. Use the expand button for the full gift panel, where you choose a gift and quantity before confirming Send. Up to five unsent taps wait behind the current send. Closing the tray, a failed or uncertain send, disconnect, live ending or account change cancels waiting taps. An unconfirmed live gift pauses further sends for that live and login. Use Review wallet transactions; closing or reopening a gift panel neither cancels nor retries the submitted gift.

Update the app to see the new gift celebrations. Older apps may not show a new gift's animation; wallet and transaction records remain the source of truth. Replayed delivery of the same receipt does not create a second celebration.

Gifts in comments

A gift sent to a commenter is attached to that exact comment or reply. Use the comment box's gift icon without a reply selected to thank the creator in a separate gift comment. These entries appear after the gift is confirmed; a waiting or failed send never creates a gift comment.

Build a gift streak

Confirmed gifts from the same person to the same recipient in the same live build a combo when they use the same gift within five seconds. Quantities add to the counter. Milestones at 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 get a short celebration; a bulk send celebrates its highest newly reached milestone once. Reduced motion keeps it quiet, and Dismiss gift animations clears the current celebration. A tap alone never advances the counter.

Use messages and notifications

Keep conversations organised and see activity that matters to your account.

WebMobile

Messages

  • In the app, the bell at the top left of Home opens Notifications and Messages from anywhere in the feed; its number counts both. Profile has the same bell and message icons.
  • Inbox lists conversations with the newest message first, as a simple list: a picture, the name, when the last message arrived and its first line. A count shows how many are unread. Reading or editing a message does not move its conversation to the top. Use the All, Unread, Direct and Rooms chips to narrow the list.
  • Times read as the time today, Yesterday, the weekday this week, then the date.
  • Open a conversation to read its history and send a message. On web, the open conversation stays in place while you scroll the list beside it.
  • Each message bubble fits its text, and a dot on a photo shows who is online. Under their name you see Online, or when they were last seen — "last seen today at 2:05 PM".
  • Tap the smiley for quick emojis, or All for every emoji. The paperclip sends a photo or a document, or shares an item from your store as a card they can open.
  • A conversation opens at its latest message; scroll up for earlier ones.
  • While the message box is empty, the button beside it is a microphone; as soon as you type, it turns into Send.
  • Send a voice message: on the web, select the microphone, speak, then select Send (or the bin to throw it away). In the app, hold the microphone and speak, release to send, slide left to cancel, or slide up to lock it and talk hands-free. Recordings under a second aren't sent, and a recording can run for up to fifteen minutes.
  • Play a voice message with its play button; drag along the waveform to skip, and select 1× while it plays to speed it up to 1.5× or 2×. Starting one stops any other.
  • When the other person is typing you see "typing…", and "recording audio…" while they record a voice message, under their name.
  • If you have scrolled up, new messages don't pull you down: a round arrow shows how many arrived, and takes you to the latest.
  • Inbox names a message without words for what it is — Photo, Video, Document or Voice message with its length — instead of leaving the line blank.
  • To start a conversation, select the pen (New message). In the app it floats at the bottom right of Messages; on the web it sits at the top. Type a name or username: Oyoyo searches everyone, not just the people listed first, and highlights what matches.
  • A connection interruption can delay delivery; wait for the message state before sending the same text again.

Ticks: sent, delivered, read

  • A clock: your message is on its way.
  • One grey tick: sent. Two grey ticks: it reached their phone or browser. Two green ticks: they have read it.
  • A message shows in the chat the moment you send it; if it can't be sent, you're told and its text goes back in the message box.

Reply, react, forward and select

  • Reply to one message: in the app, swipe it to the right or press and hold it and choose Reply; on the web, hover over it (or right-click) and select the reply arrow. The message you're answering shows above the message box until you send — select × to cancel.
  • A reply shows the message it answers above it. Select that quote to jump back to the original, which lights up for a moment.
  • React with an emoji: press and hold a message (in the app) or select the smiley beside it (on the web), then pick ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🙏 👍 — or + for any emoji in the app. Reactions show under the message for both of you. Each person has one reaction per message: pick another to change it, or the same one to take it back.
  • Forward a message into up to five other conversations: choose Forward, tick the conversations and select Send. Forwarded messages say so.
  • Select several messages at once: choose Select (on the web, also ⋮ then Select messages), then tap or click more messages. The bar at the top copies their text, forwards them or deletes them (with one message picked, it can also reply). Select × — or press Back or Escape — to stop selecting.
  • On the web, right-click a message for Oyoyo's menu: React, Reply, Forward, Copy, Select, Edit, Report and Delete.
  • Copying several messages copies each with its time and who sent it, as WhatsApp does.

Edit or delete your message

  • Edit: choose Edit on a message you sent, change the text and send. It changes for both of you. Only text can be edited, not voice messages or attachments.
  • Delete: choose Delete (Delete for everyone in the app) on a message you sent. It's removed for both of you.
  • On the web, Delete asks how: Delete for everyone (when every message you picked is yours) removes it for both of you; Delete for me takes it out of your view only, for any message, and the other person keeps theirs.

Archive, pin, favourites, clear and delete a chat (web)

  • Right-click a conversation in the list, or hover over it and select its arrow, for the chat menu: Archive chat, Pin chat, Mark as unread (or read), Add to favourites, Clear chat and Delete chat. In an open chat, ⋮ has the same choices.
  • The chips above the list show All, Unread, Favourites, Direct, Rooms and Archived. Archived chats leave your main list and its unread count; Unarchive brings one back. Undo appears for a moment after you archive.
  • Pinned chats stay at the top of your list.
  • Clear chat takes every message so far out of your view; Delete chat also takes the conversation out of your list until they message you again. Both change your copy only: the other person keeps theirs, and nothing they see changes, not even read ticks.

Mute a conversation

  1. 1Open the conversation and select ⋮ (the three dots).
  2. 2Choose Mute notifications, then 8 hours, 1 week or Always.
  3. 3Messages still arrive and count as unread, but they don't ring, pop up or notify you. A muted conversation shows a bell with a line through it, and its unread count turns grey.
  4. 4To hear from it again, open ⋮ and choose Unmute notifications.

Notifications

Notifications bring together activity such as likes, comments, follows, reposts, Link Ups and Relays, gifts and other account events supported by Oyoyo. An invitation to collaborate on a post has Accept and Decline right on it. An unread badge appears on the relevant navigation icon when new activity is waiting.

What you're told about

  • Comments: someone comments on your post, replies to your comment, or replies to a comment under your post. Each shows what they said.
  • Mentions: someone writes your @handle in a comment. Selecting it opens that post's comments. You are not told if either of you has blocked the other.
  • Squares: posts in a Square's announcements room, and new messages in rooms you've joined (at most one notice per room an hour, and none while you are reading it). Mentions and replies in rooms still come one by one.
  • Events: a reminder a day before an event you hold a ticket for or saved, and another an hour before if you hold a ticket. Hosts get the hour-before reminder too.

Square alerts are on by default. To hear less from a Square, use its bell: see Square alerts, reports and privacy.

Messages on your phone's notification shade

  • A new message shows in your phone's notifications even when Oyoyo is closed: one notification per conversation, with the sender's picture, that gathers their messages as they arrive.
  • Reply straight from the notification: pull it down (Android) or press and hold it (iPhone), select Reply, type and send. Mark as read clears it without opening the app.
  • Opening a conversation clears its notifications, and the conversation you have open doesn't notify you at all.
  • The number on the Oyoyo app icon is your unread messages and notifications, and it stays right with the app closed. Some Android phones (Pixel, for one) show a dot instead of a number, as they do for every app.
  • Missed calls appear in the notification shade even with Oyoyo closed, one per person — "Ada Obi · 3 missed calls" — with Call back and Message. Opening that person's chat clears them.
  • Every phone and browser you're signed in on gets your notifications, not just the last one you used. Signing out on one stops only that one.

Oyoyo asks to send notifications after you sign in. If you said no, turn them on from the banner above your notifications, or in your phone's Settings.

If notifications don't arrive on your phone

  1. 1In the app, open Settings, then Check notifications.
  2. 2Fix anything it marks: notifications off, a kind of notification turned off in the phone's Settings, or battery saving that stops Oyoyo in the background.
  3. 3Select Send a test notification. A provider-accepted result means Oyoyo handed it off; if the alert does not appear, check the phone's notification and background settings.
  4. 4On Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo phones, also allow Auto-start (or background activity) for Oyoyo in the phone's battery or app settings.

Notifications on a computer

  • The browser tab shows your unread count — "(3) Oyoyo" — like WhatsApp Web.
  • Select Turn on above your notifications to let the browser show messages, calls, missed calls and activity while Oyoyo is in a background tab. Clicking one brings you to it.

Review new activity

  1. 1Select the Notifications icon or its unread badge.
  2. 2Open an item to view the related creator, post, comment or activity.
  3. 3Return to the list to continue through the remaining updates.

Stay safe in conversation

Do not share one-time codes, passwords, private identity documents or card details in messages. Use the available block or report actions if a conversation becomes abusive, deceptive or unsafe.

Make a voice or video call

Call the people you message, privately: calls are end-to-end encrypted.

WebMobile

Choose who fills the screen

  • In a one-to-one video call, tap the small picture to swap it with the large view.
  • Tap the large view to show or hide call controls. The small picture becomes more compact while controls are hidden.
  • The other person’s privacy settings may prevent a call even when neither of you has blocked the other.

Start a call

  1. 1Update Android to build 58 or later before testing calls with the web. Older APKs use an incompatible call encryption format.
  2. 2Open the conversation with the person you want to call, or their profile.
  3. 3Select the phone icon for a voice call or the camera icon for a video call, at the top of the conversation or among the round icons on their profile.
  4. 4Allow the microphone (and the camera for video) if you are asked.
  5. 5Calling… means the call is on its way. It changes to Ringing… — and you hear it ring — once their phone or browser is actually ringing, as in WhatsApp.
  6. 6If they don't answer within about 45 seconds, the call stops and the conversation shows a missed call.

Answer a call

  • Android: when call notifications and microphone access are allowed, your phone can show an incoming call on the lock screen or with Oyoyo in the background. Answer or Decline there. Keep Oyoyo open on iOS to receive and answer calls reliably.
  • Web: an Answer / Decline card appears on any page of Oyoyo you have open, with a ring.
  • Answering on one device stops the others ringing while keeping the answered call open on that device. Wait for Connecting to finish before speaking.

During a call

  • Mute, the speaker (mobile), and the red button to end. On mobile the controls sit in one row at the bottom, as on WhatsApp, with Flip camera while video is on; Add people is at the top right.
  • Switch between voice and video at any time, in any call: select Turn on video, or Switch to voice to turn your camera off. The other person sees your picture as soon as you turn it on.
  • On mobile, use the rest of Oyoyo during a call: select the arrow at the top left, or go back. The call carries on, and a bar across the top of the app shows who you're talking to and for how long, with Mute and End. Tap the bar to return. Your camera pauses until you're back on the call screen.
  • While a call or meeting is on, that phone can't record a video or voice note, go live or start another call, because the call is using its microphone and camera. You can still go live from another device signed in to your account.
  • If your camera can't be opened (for example, the browser was not allowed to use it), the call carries on as voice and tells you why.
  • A voice call starts at your ear like a phone call; a video call starts on the speaker.
  • When the call ends, the web closes the call screen after a moment; on mobile, select Close. The conversation shows the call with its length, for example "Video call · 3:12".

Call several people at once

  1. 1Open Messages and select Group call (the phone icon beside the search box in the app, or at the top on the web).
  2. 2Choose Voice or Video, tick up to nineteen people from your conversations, then select Call.
  3. 3Each person rings on their own. You join straight away and see who is Calling…, Ringing… or Connecting…; everyone who answers appears in the grid.
  4. 4Anyone in the call can select Add people to bring in more, up to twenty people in all. A call between two becomes a group call the moment someone is added — nobody has to call back.
  5. 5For more than twenty people, hold a meeting in a Square instead: everyone joins from the Square, with a raised hand, screen presenting and host controls.
  6. 6Leave with the red button. The call carries on while two people are still in it, and each person's conversation with whoever called them shows the call afterwards.

Group calls need the latest Oyoyo app. Someone on an older version won't be rung for a group call, but can join from the web.

Private by design

Calls are end-to-end encrypted: the sound and video are locked with a key made on your two devices, so not even Oyoyo can listen in. Select "End-to-end encrypted" during a call to see a twelve-digit code. If the other person sees the same code, nobody is in the middle. A group call is encrypted too: one key is made on the device that starts it and handed, sealed, to each person who answers — Oyoyo never holds it. Group calls do not show a code.

If you can't call

  • You can't call someone you have blocked or who has blocked you, and a messaging restriction on your account stops calling too.
  • If the other person is already on a call, you'll be told. In a group call, someone already on another call shows as missed and isn't rung.
  • You can only call people you have a conversation with.
  • On the web, calls need a current browser. If yours can't make encrypted calls, update it or call from the Oyoyo app.
  • On the web, your browser asks for the microphone when you call or answer. Allow it — if you blocked it before, the setting is by the address bar.
  • On Android, if calls don't show when your phone is locked, open Settings, then Check notifications, and allow "Calls on the lock screen".
  • If a call only reaches you once you open Oyoyo, your phone is stopping Oyoyo while it's closed. Oyoyo offers to fix it after such a call; or open Settings → Check notifications, allow it in the background, and on Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Huawei phones select Open beside Allow Auto-start and turn it on for Oyoyo.

Discover an event and use a ticket

Review event details carefully, choose the right ticket and keep it ready for entry.

WebMobile

Choose an event

  1. 1Open Events and select an event card.
  2. 2Review the date, start time, venue, organiser information and description.
  3. 3Check the available ticket types and prices before continuing.
  4. 4Paid tickets show a complete NGN or GBP total before checkout. Pay directly through the provider offered; no compulsory Cowrie top-up is required.
  5. 5Wait for verified payment and then open My tickets. Check an interrupted payment’s existing reference before trying another payment.

Buy without an account

  1. 1Choose your tickets and select Get tickets. You don't need to sign in: continue as a guest, or choose Already have an account? Sign in.
  2. 2Under Where should we send your tickets?, enter your full name and email, then pay by card (free tickets need no payment).
  3. 3Your tickets open as soon as payment is confirmed, each with a QR code to show at the entrance. We also email you a secure link to them.
  4. 4To keep them in Oyoyo, sign in or create an account with the same email afterwards and save them. They can only join an account whose email is verified and matches the purchase.

Keep the email with your secure link: it is how a guest opens their tickets again. Anyone who has the link can see the tickets.

At the venue

  • Find your tickets any time in Events, under My tickets; the checkout's View tickets button opens the same place. Guest tickets open from the secure link in your email.
  • Signed-in ticket holders get a reminder a day before the event and again an hour before. Saving an event gets you the day-before reminder.
  • Your ticket shows the price in the currency you paid (for example £ for UK events) and the start time at the venue, with its time zone.
  • If the app's card screen cannot open on your phone, choose Pay on the website: the same event opens in your browser, where you can pay by card.
  • Keep the ticket reference or code available on your device.
  • Increase screen brightness if an organiser is scanning the ticket from your phone.
  • A ticket that has already been approved or declined will show that state when checked again.
  • Contact the organiser or report the issue if the confirmed ticket cannot be found at entry.

Before paying

Confirm the event, ticket type, quantity and total. Mandatory booking and any buyer-funded withdrawal allowance are already included in the published ticket price. The same total applies to all payment methods. Check the status of a payment that may still be processing before starting another.

24 · Events & live/Event organisers

Create and manage an event

Publish a clear event listing, configure ticket choices and validate attendees at entry.

WebMobile

Create the listing

  1. 1Open Events and choose Create event.
  2. 2Add a clear title, description, cover image, date, start time and venue details.
  3. 3Add each ticket option carefully, including its name, price and any limits requested by the form. Oyoyo keeps 5% of new ticket sales and 95% is held for the host until three days after the event. For NGN card funding the purchaser pays the disclosed processing fee. UK card fees come from Oyoyo’s 5% share; the host still keeps 95%. The host pays bank withdrawal fees.
  4. 4Can't find the venue in the address suggestions? Choose Use followed by what you typed, or use your location: where few streets are mapped, Oyoyo uses the nearest area. Confirming the place on the map takes you back to the preview.
  5. 5Review the event with Preview, then choose Publish and who can see it: Public, for anyone on Oyoyo, or Private, for people with the link.
  6. 6Once it's published you get the event's link, such as oyoyoapp.com/e/…, to copy or share straight away.

Find and manage your events

  • Events → Hosting lists everything you've put on, upcoming and past, private events included and marked Private. Open one to manage it.
  • Your private events also appear on your profile's Events tab, for you alone.

Change your flyer or event details

  1. 1On the website, open your event and choose Edit at the top, beside Check-in. Choose Change flyer to upload a new image (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB), and update the title or description if you like, then choose Save changes.
  2. 2In the app, open your event and tap Edit beside Save and Share. Tap the flyer to choose a new one; you can also change the date, place and tickets there. Then tap Update.
  3. 3On the website, a large flyer is made smaller before it uploads, and the button shows how far it has got. Keep the page open until it finishes.
  4. 4Covers show in a wide frame, so a portrait flyer is cropped on the event page. Anyone can tap the cover (View flyer) to see all of it. For the best fit, design a landscape cover of 1600 × 1000 px with the event name in the middle.
  5. 5Tickets already sold stay valid, and the new flyer shows everywhere your event appears.

Check guests in at the door

  1. 1Open your event and choose Check-in. It's for events with a venue address; online events have nothing to scan.
  2. 2Turn on Scan tickets at the door. Scanning stays off until you choose it.
  3. 3To share the work, add coordinators by their Oyoyo username (up to 20). They're told, and they scan with their own account from Check in guests on the event, or from the Events tab in the app.
  4. 4Choose Scan tickets and point the camera at a guest's ticket QR code. If the camera can't read it, type the ticket number instead.
  5. 5Compare the guest and event details shown, then admit or decline them. Each ticket can only be admitted once.
  6. 6Checked in lists everyone admitted, newest first, with their ticket type, the time and who scanned them. Search by name, username or ticket number.

Remove a coordinator at any time from Check-in; a coordinator can also step down. Make sure the scanning device has a stable connection and camera access.

The photo booth

  • Every event has a Photo booth: open the event and choose Photo booth to see photos and videos people added, or add your own.
  • In the app, the Booths feed brings together photos and videos from the events you can see.
  • Add only media you have the right to share, and report anything that breaks the rules.

Keep information accurate

If event details change, update the listing as early as possible and communicate clearly with attendees. Avoid creating a duplicate event merely to correct information on an existing one.

  • A live can have the host and up to eight other people on stage, including co-hosts and guests.
  • Hosts invite people from the People panel and can choose a co-host role. Only the host manages a co-host’s stage position and microphone.
  • Set who can ask to join: Everyone, Followers or Nobody. Eligible viewers use Ask to join; the host sees requests and can bring someone on or decline.
  • An invitation or request does not itself put someone on stage. Microphone and camera permissions are still required when joining.

Watch a live

  1. 1Open a live from Home, a profile, an event or a Square. A live that hasn't started shows Starting soon.
  2. 2Some lives are for followers, members of a community or ticket holders. If one is closed to you, Oyoyo says why and offers the way in, such as Join the community or Get a ticket.
  3. 3Chat with Say something, and ask the host something with Ask a question. Upvote the questions you want answered too.
  4. 4Select the viewer count to open the real audience list. Guest viewers remain anonymous; sign in to see the list.
  5. 5Use Send a gift on the video to open the gift tray without leaving the live.
  6. 6Double-tap the video (double-click on the web) or tap the heart to like the live. Likes are free, and everyone watching sees the total.
  7. 7If the host sets a goal, its progress shows on the video. A comment the host or a moderator pinned shows above the chat.
  8. 8Use Share to send the live's link to someone.
  9. 9The host decides who can chat: everyone watching, anyone signed in, followers, community members or only people they approve. If chat is closed to you, the box says so.
  10. 10Open Gift to support the host after checking the cowrie value. Top supporters lists the biggest givers when the host shows the leaderboard.
  11. 11Open More live controls for picture settings, Follow, Ask to join when available, and Report live. The host won't see who reported a live.

Set up a live

  1. 1Choose Go live. Under How do you want to go live?, pick Camera, Audio only (a voice room that uses the least data) or Screen to share your screen with your voice (web and Android).
  2. 2In the app, Go to the ready room starts a public live now with the usual settings. Choose Title, audience and schedule first if you want to change any of them.
  3. 3Give it a Title, then choose its Audience: Public (anyone with the link watches; signing in is needed to chat), Followers, Community (members of a linked community) or Ticket holders (people with a ticket to a linked event).
  4. 4Under When, choose Now, or Schedule for later and pick the date and time. People waiting are told if you change the time.
  5. 5Add a Cover, and choose whether to Allow Cowrie gifts and Show the gift leaderboard.
  6. 6Under Chat rules, choose Who can chat and ask questions, turn on Slow mode if messages come too fast, and Hold messages with links for you to check.
  7. 7Under After the live, choose Save the replay automatically, Ask me before publishing or Don't save (live only), and who the replay is visible to.
  8. 8Under Advanced, choose picture quality (Data saver, 480p, suits most connections), and Portrait or Landscape.
  9. 9Link a community or an event if the live belongs to one, and invite people to join you. Then open the ready room.
  10. 10In the app, More on the camera opens Your Live, your way over the camera. Event and Community open a short list; tap one to link it, or No event / No community to unlink. Done closes the panel.

The ready room

  • The ready room checks your camera, microphone, lighting, connection, battery and data before anyone can see you.
  • If camera access is off when you choose Go live, the live starts with audio only and tells you so. Open settings on the camera check to allow the camera instead.
  • Guests you invite wait backstage until you bring them on stage.
  • Use a stable connection and, where possible, keep your device on power. Start when you're ready to be seen and heard.

Run your live

  • Invite a guest or a moderator by name, or share the guest link. Guests appear on camera and microphone only once you bring them on stage.
  • Moderators help keep chat useful: they can mute someone in this live, remove them, or block them from your lives.
  • Pin a link that everyone watching sees on the video, such as "Tickets".
  • Mark a moment whenever something worth finding again happens. Moments become the replay's chapters.
  • Questions from viewers collect in one list, where viewers upvote the ones they most want answered.
  • Turn Cowrie gifts on or off, or slow the chat down, at any time.
  • Select End live when you're done, and confirm. The web stops your camera, microphone and screen sharing immediately while the end is confirmed. Your recap opens after confirmation; replay preparation happens afterwards.
  • If the end request is interrupted, the web checks the live status and keeps your broadcast stopped here. Use Check live status or Retry end live. Resume broadcast is offered only when the server confirms the live is still active, and checks again before reconnecting.

After the live

  • The replay is prepared a few minutes after the live ends. If you chose Ask me before publishing, it waits as a draft until you publish it.
  • Find ready replays on your profile → Highlights, marked Replay, beside saved clips. You do not need to cut or save a clip first. Select Replay to watch; on your own profile, choose Manage replay to open its recap and controls.
  • A published replay appears only to people allowed by its audience. Ready drafts and Only me replays appear only on your own Highlights. Processing, failed, deleted and meeting recordings are not shown as Live replays. The tab refreshes while open; return to Highlights after the replay becomes ready.
  • Edit its chapters: rename them, move where each starts and ends by ten seconds at a time, or drop one.
  • Make a clip from any part of the replay. Clips are shared to Highlights on your profile.
  • Choose who can watch the replay, or delete it. Clips you've made stay.
  • Open the live's recap to see viewers over time and how the live went.

Choose your camera, microphone and speaker

  • Web: the ready room has a Devices card under the checks. Pick the camera (for a camera live), the microphone and, in Chrome and Edge, the speaker. Your choice is remembered for your next live.
  • Web, during a live: select Devices beside Mute and Camera to switch without leaving. Viewers see and hear the new device straight away.
  • Mobile, ready room: flip between the front and back camera on the preview, and pick Wide, Ultra-wide or Telephoto where your phone has them. The live starts on the camera you chose.
  • Mobile, during a live: the Camera button offers Front or Back, the lenses, and Sound — the speaker, or a connected headset, Bluetooth or USB device. The microphone follows the sound. An audio-only live has a Sound button instead.
  • If a device you chose is unplugged, Oyoyo uses the system default.

If camera or sound is missing

Check the browser or device permission for Oyoyo, make sure another app is not using the camera or microphone, and re-enter the session after correcting the permission.

26 · Square/Everyone

Find your people in Square

Join your university, church, club, workplace or any group on Oyoyo — as many as you belong to.

WebMobile

Find a community

  1. 1Open Square from the main navigation. Square is where you discover and join communities around your interests. Each community there is also called a Square.
  2. 2Search by name, or filter by purpose (such as Campus & Learning or Market & Business), template, tag or a public module such as Listings or Events. Every Nigerian university already has one.
  3. 3To explore by place, choose a state or a city. Oyoyo never asks for your device location to do this.
  4. 4Open a community to see its cover page first: its picture, logo, who it is for, how many members it has and its ground rules.
  5. 5On the cover page, choose Join community (or Ask to join) if you aren't in it yet. If you are a member, choose Open community to go into its rooms. Links to a particular room still open that room directly.
  6. 6Inside, select the community's name or logo at the top to return to its cover page.

What the badges mean

  • Verified means the Oyoyo team confirmed who runs this Square. It does not make the Square a government or official channel.
  • A purpose or template, such as Civic or School, is only how the Square is laid out. It is not a credential.
  • An affiliated Square has agreed a link with a parent Square. The link gives nobody membership or admin access in the other Square.

Join

  • Open communities let you in straight away.
  • Some ask you to request to join; an admin approves the request.
  • Invite-only communities need a link from someone inside.
  • You can be in as many communities as you like and switch between them at any time.

If you help run it

When a community nobody has claimed yet opens, you may be asked whether you help run it — a Students' Union executive, a pastor or a club captain, say. Answer honestly: the Oyoyo team checks each claim before making anyone an admin.

27 · Square/Community members

Talk in rooms, threads and announcements

Every community is organised into rooms. Know where to post and where official updates appear.

WebMobile

More room to work on web

  • Use Full screen in the Square header to expand the workspace and hide the app’s surrounding navigation. The browser also enters full screen where supported.
  • Messages has the same Full screen control and a two-pane layout on larger screens.
  • Use Exit full screen or Escape to return to the usual layout.

Find tools without filling the room

  • The mobile Square header groups available modules as icon tiles. The bell opens Square-wide alerts.
  • The room microphone sits beside the message field. While recording, the recording controls replace the text entry area.
  • Use the attachment control for items and other room actions.

Choose the right room

  • #general is for conversation with the whole community.
  • #announcements carries official updates; only admins post there.
  • Rooms are grouped into categories — a faculty and its departments, a ministry and its units.
  • Join the rooms you want and leave or mute the rest; unread counts show in the sidebar and your inbox.

Keep conversations tidy

  1. 1Reply in a thread to keep a side conversation out of the main room.
  2. 2React instead of posting "same" or "+1".
  3. 3Pinned messages hold what a room needs to keep in view.

Keep rooms useful

Avoid duplicate promotions, impersonation, harassment and unrelated mass posting. Report a harmful message rather than escalating the exchange in public.

28 · Square/Community owners and admins

Start or run a community

Create a community, organise its rooms and look after its members, with roles that match your team.

WebMobile

Start one

  1. 1Choose Start a community from Square or the + menu.
  2. 2In the app, the setup takes one decision at a time: the kind of community, then its name and what brings people together, then optional place details, then who can join. Tap outside a field to close the keyboard.
  3. 3On the web, pick its purpose and template. The template suggests rooms, modules and privacy, and Your Square preview shows what members will see. You can change all of it later.
  4. 4Give it a name and choose how people join: open, by request, or by invite only.
  5. 5Set it up while it waits: the Oyoyo team reviews every new community before others can find it.

Roles

  • The owner runs everything and can hand the community on.
  • Admins manage settings, rooms and members; moderators look after conversations.
  • A room admin runs only that room — useful for department reps or unit heads.
  • Nobody can act on someone at their own level or above.

Look after members

Approve or decline join requests, share or revoke invite links, and give people a title such as "SUG President" so members know who's who. Keep #announcements for official notices and check dates before posting.

Hand it on

The owner can make another member the owner under People & admins. They then run the community and can hand it on in turn; you stay on as an admin. Records keep their original authors.

Give it its colour

  1. 1Open the community and select Manage (on the web) or its settings (in the app).
  2. 2Under Colour, pick one of the twelve community colours, or No colour.
  3. 3Save. The colour tints the banner (or shows as a line under your banner picture), the logo if you have no picture, a soft glow behind the community's name and the mark beside the room you are in.

The colours are chosen to sit well with Oyoyo, so buttons and the rest of the app look the same in every community.

29 · Square/Community owners and admins

Choose your Square's template and modules

Switch on the modules your community needs, decide who contributes, and change template without losing anything.

WebMobile

Switch modules on or off

  1. 1Open the community and select Manage (on the web) or its settings (in the app), then Square setup.
  2. 2Under Enabled modules, choose what this Square uses: Discussions (its rooms, always on), Events, Listings, Directories, Opportunities, Resources, Polls and Boards. Only modules the server offers can be switched on.
  3. 3Under Module settings, choose Members contribute or Admins contribute for each one. Polls and Events are always run by admins.
  4. 4Save. Members see the modules under Square modules on the community page.

Switching a module off hides its records and keeps them. Switch it back on and they return, along with its settings.

Decide what can be public

  • Records are for members unless you choose Allow public records for a module. Each author then decides whether their own record is public.
  • Turning public records off again makes every earlier public record members-only at once.
  • Polls can also allow public results, and you choose whether members see results after they vote or only after the poll closes.
  • Boards let you choose which kinds are allowed: projects, proposals and issues.

Change the template

  1. 1Under Purpose and template, choose a different template.
  2. 2Review before adoption shows the modules that will be added or switched off, the rooms that already exist, and any details that do not fit the new purpose.
  3. 3Select Adopt this template. Existing rooms, members, records and privacy stay as they are; only the template's missing rooms are added.

If another admin changed the Square meanwhile, you will see "Another manager changed this Square". Review the refreshed settings and submit again.

Link to a parent Square

Under Request a parent Square, find a public Square and send a request. When its managers agree, the two are shown as affiliated. Either side can withdraw. An affiliation never grants membership or admin access.

30 · Square/Square members

List products and services, and join a directory

Find or offer products and services in a Square, and choose whether you appear in its directory.

WebMobile

Create a listing

  1. 1Open the Square, then Listings under Square modules, and select Create listing.
  2. 2Choose Product or Service and add a title, description, category and a city or service area. Never give an exact address.
  3. 3Choose Fixed asking price or Enquire for price, and add up to eight photos.
  4. 4Select Save draft, then Publish when the details are complete. Use Mark unavailable or Archive when it is no longer on offer.

Oyoyo does not collect payment or arrange delivery for listings. Buyers contact the seller with View seller and send a message, and you agree the rest between you.

Appear in the directory

  1. 1Open Directories and select Create entry.
  2. 2Choose Person, Business or Service, then add a label, a short summary, up to five categories and an optional HTTPS website.
  3. 3Choose who can see it: Square members only, or Public, if this Square permits it.
  4. 4Select Review and consent to publish. Nothing appears in the directory until you consent.

Select Withdraw consent at any time to take your entry out of the directory.

Photos stay protected

Listing photos are shown only to people who can open the listing. A copied photo link works only for the person it was made for, and only while they can still see the listing.

31 · Square/Square members

Share opportunities and resources

Post jobs, internships, volunteering and mentoring, and keep useful links and files in one place.

WebMobile

Post an opportunity

  1. 1Open Opportunities and select Post opportunity.
  2. 2Choose Job, Internship, Volunteering or Mentoring. Add a title, a description, optional eligibility and a broad location: remote, on site or hybrid.
  3. 3Add an application link if you have one, or leave it blank so people contact you in Oyoyo. Add a closing date if there is one.
  4. 4Choose Square members or Public, if Square permits, then Publish.

Applications happen outside Oyoyo. Oyoyo does not collect CVs or applicant details. An opportunity shows as Expired after its closing date, and you can close it sooner.

Add a resource

  1. 1Open Resources and select Add resource.
  2. 2Add a title, a summary and a category, then an HTTPS link or a file: a PDF up to 20 MB, or a JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 5 MB.
  3. 3Choose Square members or Public, if permitted, then Publish.

Access is checked every time someone opens a resource. If they leave the Square, or the resource is archived, it stops opening for them.

32 · Square/Square members and admins

Run polls and track projects, proposals and issues

Ask your community a question, and work on shared projects in the open.

WebMobile

Vote in a poll

  • Open Polls, choose a poll and select your answer, then Save vote. You can change it or select Withdraw vote while the poll is open.
  • Only members who were active when the poll opened can vote.
  • Your choices are not shown to other members. Authorised Oyoyo staff may inspect them during an investigation.
  • Community polls are not binding elections.

Create a poll (admins)

  1. 1Select Create poll and ask your question. Add options with Add option.
  2. 2Choose Single choice or Multiple choices (with a maximum), when it closes, and whether results show after each vote or after close.
  3. 3Select Open poll. You can Close now at any time.

Use boards

  1. 1Open Boards and select Create board. Choose Project, Proposal or Issue, then add a title, a description and up to four photos.
  2. 2Assign a responsible member and a due date if useful, and move the board through Open, In progress, Completed or Closed.
  3. 3Post progress updates and comments under Discussion and history. To talk it through with everyone, select Start discussion and choose a room.

Boards are for community collaboration. They are not official government action, fundraising or emergency help. Describe the work without private allegations or exact locations.

33 · Square/Square admins who create events

Add your events to a Square

Show an event you created on a Square's Events page, including members-only events.

WebMobile

Add an event

  1. 1Open the Square, then Events, and under Add an event choose one of your events. Select Create event to make a new one first.
  2. 2Select Add to Square. Tickets and attendance still work through Oyoyo Events.

Members-only events

A private event joins as members-only. Members of the Square can open it, and new tickets need membership. People who already hold a ticket keep it. Its cover picture is shown only to people who can open the event.

Remove it

Select Remove from Square. The event page and its tickets remain valid in Oyoyo Events.

34 · Square/Square members

Square alerts, reports and privacy

Choose which Square alerts reach you, report a record, and know who can see what.

WebMobile

Choose your alerts

  • Choose the bell beside Invite, on the Square or its cover page, and pick Everything; Mentions, replies and assignments; or Mute this Square.
  • Everything is the default. It includes announcements, and a notice when rooms you've joined have new messages (at most one per room an hour). Mentions, replies and assignments still brings announcements. Mute this Square stops them all.
  • To quieten one room, open it and mute it. Its announcements and new-message notices stop too.
  • Below that, turn alerts off for single modules, such as Listings or Polls. Muting the Square mutes every module too.
  • Spaces, beside the bell, opens the Square's other modules and its Store.

Report something

Every listing, directory entry, opportunity, resource, poll, board and board comment has Report. Choose a reason and send it. Oyoyo staff review the record as it was when you reported it. If staff remove something you posted, you are told why and can appeal.

Who can see what

  • Records are for members unless the Square allows public records and the author chooses public.
  • Photos, files and room media are shown only to people who can still open the record. Leaving or being removed from the Square ends that access.
  • Directory entries appear only after the person consents, and they can withdraw. Settings → Directory consent lists every entry you have, in every Square, with Withdraw consent beside each.
  • Poll choices are never shown to other members.
35 · Wallet & earnings/Signed-in users and creators

Understand your wallet, cowries and gifts

Know your cowries and wallet money, what each can do, and how received cowries become money you can withdraw.

WebMobile

Cowries and wallet money

  • Cowries are Oyoyo's currency: one cowrie is worth one US dollar. Gifts, wallet-paid Lives, paid Squares and legacy Short Drama use Cowries. Tickets, store orders and Faaji purchases use the direct payment options shown; they do not require a Cowrie top-up.
  • Your wallet money uses the currency of your registered country: NGN in Nigeria, GBP in the UK, and the local currency elsewhere. Cowries keep their USD reference value. Existing cash balances change currency through a recorded exchange conversion.
  • Your cowries are either received (gifts sent to you) or bought (by card or with wallet money). The wallet shows both under your total.
  • Your wallet money is either withdrawable (earnings, sales and converted cowries) or spend-only (money you added by card). Only the withdrawable part can go to your bank.
  • Withdrawals are available in Nigeria through Paystack and in the UK through Stripe, with approved identity verification for your registered country. UK creators connect their bank through Stripe. Other countries remain buyer-only for seller commerce.
  • When you spend cowries, bought ones are used first, so received ones stay available to convert. When you spend wallet money, the spend-only part is used first.

Convert received cowries to wallet money

  1. 1Open Wallet and choose Convert to wallet. It appears once you have received cowries.
  2. 2Enter how many received cowries to convert, or choose All.
  3. 3Check the breakdown: their value at today's rate, Oyoyo's share and what you receive. You keep 70%; Oyoyo keeps 30%.
  4. 4Choose Convert. The money is added to your wallet as withdrawable, and your Transaction History shows it as Cowries to wallet.

Only cowries you received can be converted. Cowries you bought are for spending on gifts and purchases.

Use the wallet

  • Your wallet shows the balance available to your account and its recorded activity.
  • Cowries are used for supported in-app value actions such as gifts.
  • Wallet money and cowries are separate balances: a gift is paid in cowries, so money in your wallet can't be sent as a gift directly.
  • To add funds, open Wallet and choose what you'd like to fund (wallet money or cowries), then pay by card or bank through Paystack (Stripe outside Nigeria). Money you add this way is for spending and can't be withdrawn. Your Transaction History, filtered by type and status, shows each one.
  • Bank withdrawals show what your bank receives, the transfer fee you pay and the total debited from cleared earnings before you request the confirmation PIN. Card-funded wallet money stays spend-only.
  • The cowrie price in your currency follows the day's exchange rate for one US dollar and is shown before you pay. A payment you've started keeps the price it showed.
  • On web and supported mobile builds, choose Add cowries from a gift to buy the missing amount with wallet money or choose a card pack. Review the displayed cost. A top-up never sends the gift automatically.
  • Cowries are bought on the web at app.oyoyoapp.com, or in the Android app downloaded from oyoyoapp.com. The app from Google Play or the App Store doesn't sell cowries; ones you buy on the web show there straight away.
  • Your wallet activity also shows what you earn: store sales, paid Square access, creator fund weeks, referral rewards and ambassador pay.
  • Receiving an eligible gift adds activity associated with your creator account.
  • A pending payment or gift may take a short time to appear. Refresh the wallet before trying the same transaction again.

Review every confirmation

  1. 1Check the recipient, item and amount.
  2. 2Complete the payment or gift prompt once.
  3. 3Wait for a clear success or failure result.
  4. 4Open Wallet to confirm the updated balance and transaction activity.

Protect your money

Oyoyo support should not ask for your password, one-time code or full card details in a comment or direct message. Stop and report any account making such a request.

36 · Wallet & earnings/Eligible creators

Verify your identity and request a withdrawal

Complete the checks shown in Wallet, add accurate payout details and review a request before submitting it.

WebMobile

Complete verification

Payouts need an approved identity check. Follow the Wallet prompt and give accurate information that belongs to you: your details, a photo of your document (one page for a passport, front and back for other IDs) and a selfie. Staff review it before your first payout. Upload verification material only inside the protected verification flow, never through a post, comment or chat.

On web, Take photo opens a live camera preview; allow camera permission and capture when ready. Upload photo opens your files separately. If a webcam is unavailable or blocked, read the on-screen guidance or use an existing photo.

Add payout details

  1. 1Open Wallet and locate the payout or withdrawal area.
  2. 2Complete any verification requested for your account.
  3. 3Nigeria: choose a local bank, enter its 10-digit NGN account number and confirm the resolved account holder. Save the verified account.
  4. 4United Kingdom: choose Connect Stripe and complete hosted onboarding with genuine identity/business details and your own GBP bank account. Return to Oyoyo and refresh; resume the same onboarding if information is missing.
  5. 5Your Oyoyo identity review, withdrawal PIN and provider bank checks must all be complete. Nigerian and UK sellers are supported; other countries remain buyer-only for seller commerce.
  6. 6Enter a positive whole amount in your wallet currency. Review what your bank receives, the transfer fee and the total from your earnings, then submit once.
  7. 7Return to Wallet to monitor the recorded status instead of creating duplicate requests. In the UK, Bank payments shows the later Stripe-to-bank payout, which can combine several withdrawals. A transfer into Stripe is not yet proof of bank receipt.

Read the payout page

  • Available to withdraw is your earnings, sales and converted cowries. Money you added by card and cowries you bought aren't included: they're for spending.
  • Payouts this month adds up the withdrawals you have requested since the 1st. A rejected request is refunded to your balance, so it is not counted.

If a request does not complete

  • Read the status and any reason shown beside the request.
  • Confirm your identity and bank details are accurate and consistent.
  • Do not create repeated requests while an earlier one is pending.
  • Use the support or staging-report route with the transaction reference, but never include full private banking credentials.
37 · Safety & support/Everyone

Report, block and protect your account

Use Oyoyo's safety controls and avoid sharing information that can compromise you.

WebMobile

Report harmful activity

  1. 1Open the menu associated with the content or account where the report action is available.
  2. 2Choose Report. The form shows the post, comment, message, story or account you are reporting, so you can check it is the right one.
  3. 3Choose the reason that fits best. Submit stays unavailable until you choose one.
  4. 4Add what happened if it helps (optional), then submit once. Your report appears under My reports, where you can follow its progress.
  5. 5Do not publicly confront a dangerous account after reporting it.

Block an account

Use Block when you need to stop an account from interacting with you. Reporting is separate: it asks the moderation team to review content or behaviour that may break the rules.

  • Open the account's profile or your chat with them, open the menu and choose Block.
  • Neither of you can find the other in search, see the other's posts or open the other's post links, and neither can like, comment on or share the other's posts.
  • They can't message or call you, and neither of you sees the other online.
  • Your profile shows to them as not found. To unblock, open Settings → Blocked accounts (Blocked Users in the app).
  • Blocking removes the follows between you. Unblocking does not restore them.

If your account is restricted, in a timeout or suspended

  • A restriction stops one thing — posting, messaging or going live — while the rest of your account works.
  • A timeout pauses posting, commenting, liking, gifting, following, messaging and going live for a set time, at most a week. You can still sign in and browse.
  • A suspension or ban stops you signing in.
  • When an action is paused, Oyoyo tells you which one, the moderator's reason and, where it has one, when it ends.
  • To appeal a restriction or timeout, open My appeals from the menu and explain why the decision should be reviewed. For a suspension or ban, sign in as usual and use the appeal form shown instead of your account.

Secure your account

  • Use a unique password and keep access to your registered email secure.
  • Never share passwords or one-time verification codes.
  • Sign out on shared devices and review unusual account activity promptly.
  • Treat unexpected payment, prize or verification messages as suspicious.

Immediate danger

Platform reporting is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or trusted authority as well as using Oyoyo's reporting tools.

38 · Safety & support/Everyone

Troubleshoot common problems

Try a small set of safe checks before reporting playback, upload, login or notification problems.

WebMobile

Video is slow or does not play

  • Check whether another website or app can load media on the same connection.
  • Pause briefly to allow buffering, then try the media again.
  • Start a fresh Home session if one item remains stuck.
  • On mobile, close and reopen Oyoyo if the app has been in the background for a long time.

Upload does not finish

  • Keep Oyoyo open while the upload is processing.
  • Use a stable connection and confirm the selected file is a supported image or video.
  • Do not repeatedly press the publish or story action.
  • If it fails, capture the file type, approximate size and the visible message before trying a smaller file.

Notifications or follow state look stale

Allow the first action to finish, then move to another screen and return. You can also start a fresh Home session. If two screens still show different states, capture both because that evidence is especially useful in a report.

The mobile app closes unexpectedly

  • Reopen the app and note the exact action and media item that came immediately before the closure.
  • Confirm you are using the latest test build supplied for the current round.
  • Record your phone model and Android version.
  • Submit a report with a screen recording when the issue can be reproduced safely.
39 · Safety & support/Assigned UAT testers

Submit, track and retest a UAT report

Give the product team enough evidence to reproduce a problem and keep the private receipt needed to follow it.

WebMobile

Before you submit

  • Try the same journey a second time when it is safe to do so.
  • Submit one problem per report so each issue can be assigned and resolved clearly.
  • Remove passwords, payment card details, identity documents and other unnecessary private information from evidence.

Write a reproducible report

  1. 1Open the UAT page at staging.oyoyoapp.com/uat; no Oyoyo account is required. UAT runs on staging only, and the UAT link on app.oyoyoapp.com takes you there.
  2. 2Choose the affected platform, category and severity based on impact.
  3. 3Give the exact steps from the starting screen to the failure.
  4. 4Explain what you expected and what actually happened.
  5. 5Add the page, device, browser or app build details you know.
  6. 6Attach screenshots, recordings or logs, paste evidence links, or use both.
  7. 7Submit the report and save both the reference and private tracking token.

Track the report

Return to the Track a report area on the UAT page and enter the reference plus the private tracking token from your receipt. The token fills in by itself only in the browser you filed the report from; anywhere else, paste it. The token is deliberately private and cannot be recovered from the public reference alone.

Add a retest result

Open your existing report with its reference and private token, then use Add a retest result. Enter the scenario ID if assigned, actual installed build, device, outcome, what happened and evidence. Each attempt is kept separately; a passed retest does not erase an earlier failure or close the report automatically. If you lost the private token, ask the UAT coordinator to reconcile the old reference before filing another report.

Choose severity by impact

  • Low: cosmetic or minor issue.
  • Medium: a workaround is available.
  • High: a major feature or journey is blocked.
  • Blocker: the journey cannot continue or testing cannot proceed safely.

Use Oyoyo on web or mobile

Choose the experience that suits your device and keep your account consistent across platforms.

WebMobile

Use the same account

Your Oyoyo account is shared across supported platforms. Sign in with the same method and email so your profile, relationships and account activity remain connected.

Choose a platform

  • Web works in a current browser and gives you the full creator dashboard experience.
  • Mobile is designed for full-screen discovery, quick creation, notifications and on-the-go interaction.
  • Some role-specific administration tools may be easier to use or currently available only on web; the manual labels those sections clearly.

Going back on Android

Back returns to the screen you came from. From Events, Square or Profile, and from a post or event opened from a link, Back takes you to Home. On Home, Back closes the app.

Keep the app current

When a new version of the app is ready, Oyoyo shows Update available. Select Update: an app installed from Google Play updates without leaving Oyoyo, and otherwise the official download page opens. Later hides the notice for a day. If your version is no longer supported, Update required stays until you update. Install updates only from the official store or the build supplied for the current UAT round, never from unknown senders or unofficial download pages.

Manage your account and settings

Change your password or email, become a creator, find your reports and appeals, and deactivate or delete your account.

WebMobile

How Settings is laid out

  • Account: Account settings, Privacy, Blocked accounts and Directory consent.
  • Notifications: Allow notifications, and (in the app) Check notifications.
  • Creator: Invite friends and Creator fund.
  • Safety and help: My safety reports, My appeals, Help and support, Frequently asked questions and Report a bug.
  • About: Share Oyoyo, Rate Oyoyo, the Privacy policy and the Terms. Log out is the last row.

Choose light or dark

  1. 1Open Settings, then Appearance, and choose System, Light or Dark. Until you choose, Oyoyo follows your device's own light or dark setting.
  2. 2Not signed in? Use the Appearance button at the top of the app, or the Appearance page on the web.
  • Your choice changes Events, checkout, Wallet, Inbox, profiles and Settings.
  • Pulse and its sound and hashtag pages, Faaji (Films, Music and Short Drama), Live and Booths always stay dark, so videos and artwork look their best.
  • Ticket QR codes are always black on white, so they scan in either mode.

Account settings

  1. 1Open Settings (in the app, from the menu on your profile), then Account settings.
  2. 2Choose Edit profile for your photo, banner and bio.
  3. 3Choose Change email to switch the address you sign in with: enter the new address twice, then the 6-digit code we send to it.
  4. 4Choose Change password and enter your current password and a new one. Accounts that use Sign in with Apple have no Oyoyo password.

Become a creator

Choose Become a creator in Settings. It's free and instant, and you keep everything you already have. You get a creator badge, analytics and a Live tab on your page. Payouts still need an identity check (see Verify your identity).

Everything else in Settings

  • Directory consent: every Square directory entry you have, with Withdraw consent.
  • Blocked accounts: everyone you've blocked, with Unblock.
  • My safety reports and My appeals: follow what happened to your reports and appeals.
  • Check notifications (app): fixes anything that stops alerts on your phone.
  • Report a bug: tell the Oyoyo team what went wrong, with a short title and the details.
  • Help and support: the Oyoyo guide and our social pages. Frequently asked questions gives quick answers.
  • Log out signs you out of this device only.

Deactivate your account

  • Deactivating hides your profile, stops notifications and emails, and signs you out.
  • Your data, settings and content are kept. Sign in again any time to reactivate.

Delete your account

  • Deleting closes your account straight away: you're signed out everywhere and your profile disappears.
  • 14 days later your profile, posts, stories, messages, follows, memberships and media are deleted. Sign in before then if you change your mind; that cancels the deletion.
  • Payment, payout and ticket records are kept without your name, because the law requires them. Reports and safety history about you are deleted with everything else.
  • After deletion you'd create a new account to come back.
  • If you used Sign in with Apple, deleting also disconnects Oyoyo from your Apple Account.
42 · Wallet & earnings/Creators who sell

Sell in your store

Set up a store on your profile, list products and services, take orders and get paid when they're complete.

WebMobile

Share an item in a Square

  1. 1Create the product or service in your profile Store first. Publish the offer and wait for your store’s approval.
  2. 2Open the Square’s Shop. If sharing is unavailable, the next-step card explains whether you need membership, a live store, a published offer or permission from a Square manager.
  3. 3Choose Share an item and select a published offer. If the Square reviews contributions, it appears after approval.
  4. 4Square managers use Shop settings to control selling, contributions, review and whether members can buy inside that Square.

Track the review

  • Your Store shows when it is waiting for review and any changes requested by the team. You can withdraw a waiting application to make changes.
  • Authorised staff use Sellers in the moderator console to review stores and their offers, approve them, ask for changes or remove approval.

Set up your store

  1. 1Open your profile and choose the Store tab, then Set up your store.
  2. 2Give it a name and description. It starts as a private draft.
  3. 3Add offers: a product, a service at a fixed price, or an enquiry-only item. Set the price and, for stock you count, how many are available.
  4. 4Choose Submit for review after adding at least one offer. Oyoyo reviews your store before it opens. If changes are requested, read the note, update your store and submit again. Once approved, you can pause, reopen or close your store from its menu.

Store setup shows Oyoyo's fee before you list anything. Oyoyo keeps that share of each sale; the buyer pays the listed price.

How buyers pay

  • A buyer reviews the total, confirms the order and pays directly through Paystack for NGN or Stripe for GBP. The seller receives the applicable earnings after settlement, less Oyoyo’s 8% store commission.
  • Stores support eligible Nigerian sellers in NGN and UK sellers in GBP. Other supported countries can buy; they are not additional seller markets.
  • Stock is held for them while they pay. An unpaid order lapses and the stock comes back.
  • Offers can be shared in chats and Square rooms; the card always shows the current price.

Fulfil an order

  1. 1Open Orders and choose Sales.
  2. 2Accept the order, then mark it processing, ready and delivered as you go. A service finishes at ready.
  3. 3The buyer confirms it's complete. If they don't, it completes by itself 7 days after you mark it delivered.
  4. 4When it completes, your share (the price less Oyoyo's fee) goes to your wallet earnings. The order shows the fee, what you received and when.

Refunds and disputes

  • Before an order completes, the buyer can ask for a full refund or open a dispute from Orders → Purchases. Oyoyo's team reviews it.
  • Once an order is complete and you've been paid, refunds go through support.
  • Oyoyo doesn't deliver goods; arrange delivery or pickup with the buyer.
44 · Wallet & earnings/Creators

Earn from the creator fund

Join the creator fund and earn each week from genuine views of your public posts, your public lives and plays of your approved sounds.

WebMobile

Who can join

  • You need to be 18 or over, with a verified email or phone, a completed identity check and an account at least 14 days old, in good standing.
  • Open Settings → Creator fund, read the terms and apply. Oyoyo's team admits creators up to the cohort's size; others wait on the list.
  • Earnings count from the day you're admitted, never from older activity.

What earns

  • ₦0.10 for each qualified view of a public post: watched at least 5 seconds, counted once per viewer, post and day.
  • ₦1 for each qualified minute someone watches your public live, after their first 2 minutes, up to 30 minutes per viewer per live.
  • ₦0.02 each time your approved sound plays in someone else's public post.
  • You can earn up to the weekly cap shown on the page. When a week's activity adds up to more than its pool, everyone's share is scaled down equally.
  • Your own views, looped or bought views, paid-ticket lives, private Square meetings, calls and messages never count.

Weekly statements and payment

  1. 1Weeks run Monday to Sunday, Lagos time.
  2. 2Two days after a week ends, your statement shows your qualified views, live minutes and sound plays, and a provisional amount.
  3. 3After a 7-day review the week is paid into your wallet earnings. Withdraw from Wallet as usual.

A week only pays if Oyoyo funded it. A week that wasn't funded says so on your statement.

Invite friends and become an ambassador

Share your invite link, earn a reward for friends who qualify, and apply to be a student ambassador.

WebMobile

Invite friends

  1. 1Open Settings → Invite friends and choose Share my referral link.
  2. 2A friend who signs up through your link, verifies their account and completes their profile qualifies 7 days after joining.
  3. 3The reward goes to your wallet earnings. The page shows the amount, your paid referrals and any held for the monthly limit.
  • Referrals to yourself, or between blocked or restricted accounts, don't qualify.
  • Rewards found to be abuse can be reversed.

Student ambassadors

  1. 1From Invite friends, choose Become an Oyoyo ambassador.
  2. 2Pick an open cohort, say why you'd like to join and accept that applying isn't an offer of work. You need a student account with your school set.
  3. 3Oyoyo's team reviews applications. You'll see the decision on the same page.
  • During your three-month term, each friend who qualifies through your link earns you the ambassador commission instead of the ordinary reward.
  • Approved ambassadors also receive a monthly stipend while their term lasts. Both go to your wallet earnings.

Send voice notes

Record, check and send voice notes in chats and Square rooms.

WebMobile

Record and send

  1. 1In a chat or Square room, hold or tap the microphone to record (up to 15 minutes).
  2. 2Stop to listen back before sending, or discard it.
  3. 3Send. If the upload fails, retry the same recording; it won't send twice.

Who can hear it

  • Voice notes are stored privately and play only for people who can see that chat or room.
  • You can forward a voice note to another chat; it stays private there too.
  • Report a voice note like any other message.
47 · Square/Square owners, admins and members

Hold a Square meeting

Meet with your Square face to face: everyone joins as a participant, with microphones, cameras, raised hands and screen presenting.

WebMobile

Start or schedule a meeting

  1. 1In your Square, find Meetings at the top of the room list and select + (on the Square's page, select New meeting).
  2. 2Give it a title and choose Video (cameras and voices) or Audio (voices only).
  3. 3Select Start now to go straight into the room, or Schedule for later and pick the date and time.
  4. 4Under Who can join, choose Square members or public, whether members join straight away or you admit each person, and how many places it has (2 to 1,000).

Join a meeting

  1. 1Meetings in progress show in the Square with a Join button. Upcoming ones are under Upcoming.
  2. 2Open a meeting to see and hear yourself first. Turn your microphone and camera on or off, or select Check your audio and video to choose devices.
  3. 3Select Join now. If the host hasn't started yet, select Join when it starts: you go in automatically as soon as they do.
  4. 4If the host admits each person, select Ask to join and wait for them to let you in.

Big meetings start with your microphone off, so a room of people isn't heard all at once.

In the meeting

  • Everyone is a participant, not an audience: turn your microphone on to speak and your camera on to be seen. On a computer, Ctrl+D (⌘+D on a Mac) mutes and unmutes, and Ctrl+E turns the camera on or off.
  • Raise your hand to ask to speak; the host sees it at once. Send a quick reaction (👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 👏 🎉) for everyone to see.
  • On a computer, select Present to share a window, tab or your whole screen. One person presents at a time; everyone else sees it large, with the others beside it.
  • Open Messages for the meeting's chat, People to see who is there, and Meeting details for the short joining link and code (for example abc-defg-hjk). Enter a code or paste a meeting link in Join with a code. Pin someone to keep them on the big screen.
  • On mobile, active meetings, calls and Lives keep the screen awake, including when you watch a Live. Normal screen sleep returns after your last active session ends.
  • During a network interruption, Oyoyo reconnects and prioritises audio. An expired reservation is checked again automatically; removal by the host or changed access still applies. A host losing their connection does not end a meeting while people remain connected. If recovery cannot finish, use Rejoin when your connection returns.
  • The active speaker moves to the leading tile beside your own video, unless a presentation or pin takes priority. Larger rooms load visible video tiles while keeping participant audio connected. Use People to search for a participant and pin their video.
  • On mobile, the controls sit in one row at the bottom: More, camera (or raise your hand in a voice-only meeting), speaker, microphone and the red button. Raise your hand, reactions, Meeting details and recording are under More; People and Messages are at the top right.
  • Select the arrow at the top left, or go back, to use the rest of Oyoyo while the meeting carries on. A bar across the top of the app returns to it, with your microphone and Leave. On mobile, audio continues when switching apps; the camera pauses in the background and resumes on return. Allow the microphone and ongoing-meeting notification permissions when requested.
  • Leave with the red button. The meeting carries on without you, and you can rejoin while it's running.

Run the meeting as host

  • Admit people who are waiting from People, or from the alert that appears when someone asks.
  • From a person's tile or from People, ask them to mute or stop their video, lower their hand, stop their presentation, or remove them. Mute all asks everyone else to mute.
  • When leaving, choose End meeting for everyone to close the room, or Just leave to let participants continue. A brief host disconnection is treated as recovery, not a deliberate ending. An unattended empty room may close after its recovery period.

Invite, calendar and safety

  • On the meeting's page, Invite people sends a meeting card to a chat or Square room; Share link copies the link. A link never grants membership: each person's access is checked when they open it.
  • Add the meeting to your calendar, or select Remind me, from its page.
  • The host can start or stop recording from More. Everyone sees a recording notice before joining and while it runs. After the meeting, recordings are private to the host and Square admins; the host can delete them. Transcripts and summaries are unavailable.
  • Report a meeting from its page, or from Meeting details inside it, if something is wrong.
48 · Events & live/Hosts and viewers

Use polls, captions and producers in a live

Run polls, write captions and translations, mark content, and get help from a producer while you're live.

WebMobile

In the web studio (hosts)

  • Polls: ask a question with 2 to 4 answers and close it when you're done. Viewers vote on the web and in the app.
  • Captions: type the current line and it shows over the video for 20 seconds. You can add your own translation (for example English and Pidgin); viewers choose which to read.
  • Producer: appoint a producer to help run the room without going on stage.
  • Goal: set a likes goal or, with gifts on, a gifts goal, with an optional title. Everyone sees the progress, and each new goal starts from zero. A gifts goal counts gifts actually sent to you after you set it.
  • Pin a comment: pin a message from the chat so it shows above everyone's chat. The host and moderators can pin or unpin; a deleted comment unpins itself.
  • Rating: mark a live as having mature themes; viewers see the label.
  • Templates: save your usual setup and reuse it.
  • After scheduling, choose Plan next week to draft the same live seven days later. Nothing is scheduled until you submit it.
  • After a live, review the clips you marked before publishing them.

As a viewer

  • Tap an answer to vote in a poll, or to change your vote.
  • Captions appear over the video. Tap a caption to switch to the host's translation.

Captions and translations are written by the host. Oyoyo doesn't make automatic captions or translations.

Create reusable sounds in Music studio

Submit a short recording for posts, keep reuse permissions clear, and manage credits or claims.

WebMobile

Choose the right Music studio tool

  1. 1Open Create → Music studio. Music releases is for full singles and albums, listening, lyrics, purchases and Premium.
  2. 2Choose Reusable sounds for a 1–30 second excerpt that other people can add to their Pulse posts.
  3. 3Publishing a full song does not automatically grant permission to reuse it in posts. Reusable sounds have their own rights evidence, owner consent and review.

Share an excerpt from your Music release

  1. 1Open your published single or album in Music studio. Beside a verified track, choose Make available in posts. This works on web and mobile.
  2. 2Select and preview 1–30 seconds of the existing track. You do not need to upload the full recording again; only the selected excerpt is submitted for reuse.
  3. 3Add private proof covering the recording and composition, choose the correct rights basis, list the rights participants and confirm permission for other people’s Oyoyo posts, including commercial posts. A distribution licence alone may not authorize this use.
  4. 4The excerpt follows the ordinary owner-consent and independent rights review. Once approved, it appears in Create post → Music & sounds. Publishing a paid or Premium song does not expose its full recording in that picker.
  5. 5Returning to Make available in posts opens the same sound’s review; retrying a submission does not create a duplicate. Use its sound ID to manage later revisions or rights claims.

Add a sound to your video or photos

  1. 1In Create, choose Add a sound (app) or Music & sounds (web). It works for a video, or for up to five photos: your photos post as a slideshow of up to 15 seconds with the sound playing under them.
  2. 2All lists sounds for you first: the shelves you use most, then what other creators use and save. Recently used, Saved and Popular come next, then moods and genres (Inspirational, Upbeat, Chill, Love & Soul, Afro & World, Pop & Rock, Hip-hop, Jazz & Lounge, Calm piano and more), plus Speeches and Sound effects. Or search by title or artist. Tap a sound, or its play button, to hear it before you choose.
  3. 3Choose Use. For a video, balance the sound against your video's own audio before posting.
  4. 4Some sounds are free-to-use music licensed under Creative Commons, or public-domain recordings such as historic speeches; their credit shows with the sound and on its page, and stays with your post. Your own music joins the library through Make available in posts.

Discover a sound from a post

  1. 1Tap the sound name or the turning disc on a video to open its sound page; the disc never opens the post itself. An original-audio label opens the source post’s own audio page, separate from the approved sound library.
  2. 2Play the cover preview, read the title and artist, and browse the public posts using it.
  3. 3Choose Use this sound when reuse is available. The composer opens with that sound selected. Original audio keeps the source creator’s credit; reuse remains subject to the source’s current permissions.
  4. 4Use Share to copy or share the sound page link. Sound previews pause during a call.

Keep a sound for later

  1. 1Open a sound page and choose Save. Sign in if prompted.
  2. 2Open Saved sounds to find your private collection, return to a sound, or remove it from the list.
  3. 3Choose Use this sound only when reuse is available. Saving a sound does not grant rights or override a review or restriction.

Check a review or confirm your share

  1. 1On web, open Music studio → Reusable sounds → Review & owner splits.
  2. 2Enter the sound ID from your submission or invitation.
  3. 3Read the current status. If your owner consent is pending, confirm your recorded split.

Submit a sound

  1. 1Open Music studio → Reusable sounds, choose Submit a sound on web and upload a clip. Select the 1–30 seconds you want to share.
  2. 2Add private proof that you own or are licensed to authorize the recording and composition for reuse, list the rights participants and their shares, and confirm your permission.
  3. 3Co-owners consent from their own accounts. Oyoyo's team then reviews it.
  4. 4Once approved, others can add it to their posts, credited to you.

Choose the rights basis that matches your evidence. A non-exclusive or open licence is not a claim that you own the original copyright; all required attribution and commercial reuse permissions still apply. Editorial Demo Library tracks are excluded from creator-owned Sound submissions and earning rights. If linked music is withdrawn or its verified source changes, its reusable excerpt is paused. Publishing it again does not restore approval: open the sound’s tracker and choose Submit a new revision for fresh evidence and review.

Earn and claim

  • Owners in the creator fund earn when their approved sound plays in someone else's public post.
  • If someone used your sound without permission, open Rights & claims in Reusable sounds, enter the sound ID and provide private proof. An upheld claim takes the sound out of reuse.

  2. 2Browse packs, search by label or choose a recent sticker.
  3. 3Tap a sticker to send it as a comment or reply. It appears as a large image in the thread.

  2. 2Browse Naija reactions, Reactions or Love and vibes, or search for a feeling or local phrase such as abeg, wahala, gbam, soft life or na wa o.
  3. 3Tap a GIF to send it immediately. Recent remembers the reactions you sent; switch between Stickers and GIFs at the top of the picker.
  • Oyoyo hosts 235 animated Noto Emoji reactions by Google and Noto Emoji contributors, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Select the credit below the GIF picker to view the source, licence and modifications.
  • The collection includes familiar international reactions and local search terms, with medium-dark and dark hand gestures. These are animated emoji reactions; the collection does not include film or celebrity clips.
  • When your device requests reduced motion, built-in GIFs show still images. Compact animation previews reduce downloads while you browse.

Make and keep your own

  • Open My stickers in the picker and choose a picture to make a personal sticker. Supported uploads include PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF; uploads can be up to 4 MB.
  • Animated GIFs become short animated stickers. Uploaded pictures are checked before they can be used.
  • Use the sticker’s menu on web, or press and hold on mobile, to keep a sticker from a comment in My stickers. You can also remove your own stickers there.
  • Authorised staff manage platform packs and remove inappropriate stickers in the moderator console’s Stickers page.

Choose who can reach you

Control messages, calls, online status and read receipts independently.

WebMobile

Set your audiences

  1. 1Open Settings, then Privacy.
  2. 2Choose who can message you, call you, see you online and see that you read their message. Each has its own setting.
  3. 3Choose Everyone, Friends, People you follow or Nobody. Friends means you follow each other.
  4. 4Settings start at Everyone. Changes affect what other people can see or do with your account.

Privacy and blocking

  • Privacy settings apply to an audience. Blocking targets one account and remains a separate control.
  • When read receipts are hidden, the other person can still see delivery without a read confirmation. Online-status privacy also covers last seen.
  • If an account’s settings prevent a message or call, the conversation explains the restriction and disables that action.
